Lord David Triesman
Lord Triesman has been involved with housing, education, employment, regulation, treasury, business and innovation, trade and industry, transport and football over the span of his career. He chaired the National Inquiry into Housing Benefits for the Cabinet Office in 2000. Over the last decade, Lord Triesman was a member of the Better Regulations Task Force and the HM Treasury Public Service Productivity Panel. In addition, he was the Government Minister for Education and Skills, Trade and Industry, Transport, and International Development. Between 2005 and 2008 he held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Foreign Commonwealth Office) and Under-Secretary of State (Intellectual Property and Quality). He served as the Shadow Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills and is a Group Director at Salamanca Group. Currently he is a member of the EU External Affairs and Standing Committee and was Chairman of the Football Association from February 2008 to May 2010. He is a Freeman of the City of London and of the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers.
